DGE also works closely with The Wylie Initiative for the Study of Entrepreneurship (WISE): Executive Lecture Series, a 12-week academically competitive and highly selective advanced lecture series with experienced professionals in the worlds of business and film that complement programs offered at accredited institutions.
Students will be chosen from colleges’ pool of students (as well as new incoming students) seeking to gain insight into executing an entrepreneurial vision. Once accepted into WISE, students will be known as WISE Fellows. WISE Fellows who receive the coveted Certificate of Completion will have the knowledge to develop business plans, structure financing for projects, and launch companies across various industries.
The WISE Executive Lecture Series will cover topics such as business entrepreneurship, project financing, entertainment production, business models, distribution models, marketing plan development/execution and business plan development/execution. WISE will play a critical role in preparing college graduates to not only secure jobs quickly in a very competitive market, but also assist in generating employment opportunities for others.
DGE co-manages with Arthur Wylie Enterprises the Wylie Studios/Arthur Wylie Foundation/W.I.S.E. Collaboration of Initiatives.
Without a increase in jobs to hire the newly trained, education and re-education of the workforce is meaningless. Our decision to make investments into workforce development, particularly into the film/TV production and entrepreneurship incentives if productions hire locally – to attract more jobs to the region, and in our case, also ensure well-trained WISE graduates find a job and gain real-life experience.
